Mexican Music

Mexican restaurants are known more for offering substance rather than style. The underground level has the interactive museum for Mexican Music, with 1200 sqm of exhibition space divided among six rooms, each with a particular theme, narrating the development and evolution of Mexican folk music from its origins to present day, highlighting its main genres.
As the staff of NPR's Weekend Edition Sunday prepares to head to Mexico to cover the country's upcoming presidential elections, it seemed only fitting that Alt.Latino prepare a short round up that explores the vast sonic landscape of contemporary Mexican music.



Born in Xalapa, based in the Bronx, this trio of brothers lead with fiddles on a rich assortment of roots music, including mariachi, son jarocho and son huasteco - with bits of jazz, blues, and rock thrown in. A folksy falsetto sound that represents the new cross-border Mexican scene.
While you might think sticking to the "ensalada" section is a safe bet, the truth is that some of the salads can pack more calories than some entree counterparts — here's looking at you, generic taco salad with over 800 calories and almost 50 grams of fat.

But it's a fad that'll go away.

Plant-based dieters who ate a diet primarily focused on fruit, vegetables, whole grains and nuts were observed to have a significantly lower risk of heart disease while plant-based eaters who frequently drank sugary beverages and ate refined grains and other ultra-processed foods were observed to have a higher risk of heart disease, a July 2017 study published in the American College of Cardiology found.
While Mexico today is home to countless genres incorporating elements of Latin jazz, Caribbean salsas, American rock and hip-hop, and others, for now let's focus on the folk music of Mexico. Some of the popular venues for high end Mexican weddings include Sheraton Hacienda Los Cabos, along with various other destinations.

A one-cup serving of cooked asparagus has just 40 calories but provides 3.6 grams of fiber and 4.3 grams of protein. This additional new exposure in popular media should increase awareness of Mariachi in the U.S. and lead to increased popularity for Mariachi and other types of Mexican music.
European invaders attempted to change Mexican culture, but music aided in its partial preservation, while at the same time incorporating some of the new tempos, instruments and sensibilities of traditional Spanish music. A Mexico ceremony cannot be complete without a wedding planner who takes care of a lot of things like music, décor, food etc.
